As organisers of the High Legh 10K race, we collect only the data required to administer the event, and follow best practice on handling and storing it. We don’t share it with anyone unless we are obliged to or permitted to by law.
To take part in the High Legh 10K you will need to complete an online entry form and submit some personal data. The data is gathered by the race entry service (Nifty Entries), and relevant data is then shared with us (race organisers); the chip timing service (StuWeb); and UK Athletics.
In addition, this website provides an email address where you can contact us about the event.

Who we are
The website is owned and maintained by Lymm Runners to deliver primary information about the High Legh 10K Race (also known as the Robert Moffat Memorial Race). The event is organised by a voluntary committee from Lymm Runners and High Legh Community Association. As organisers, we are committed to protecting your privacy and processing your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Data Protection Legislation).
Lawful Basis
The High Legh 10K race is operated under UK Athletics race rules. As organisers, we have a contractual obligation to deliver that service to every participant who registers for the event. We can only fulfil that obligation if we have relevant personal information from those taking part.
Our legal basis for processing your data is to fulfil our contract with you as an individual athlete.
What information do we collect?
When you send an email enquiry
If you contact us with a query about the event, we will use the personal contact information you provide to respond to and fulfil the request. We may use the information to improve our services and develop new ones.
When you register for the event
To take part in the event you will need to complete an online registration form available via our third-party partner, Nifty Event Services Limited (Nifty Entries). Essential personal data – known as your Athlete data – is gathered by Nifty Entries is shared with us so we can administer the event.
Race results are chip-timed. The results service is provided by third-party partner, StuWeb Race Management Services (Stuweb). As organisers of the event, we share your Athlete data with Stuweb, and it will be added to their publicly available results database.

Mailing lists
As part of event registration, we request your permission to send you emails about the event and also about other events organised by Lymm Runners. Your consent is entirely optional and if you consent to join our mailing list you can withdraw your consent at any time.
Please note that if you withhold or withdraw your consent before the race takes place you may miss out on important race information.
Race results
Race results comprising: name, age category, club and gender are made publicly available via this website (highlegh10k.org.uk), www.stuweb.co.uk, www.niftyentries.com and www.runbritain.com/races. Once published, the results may be shared and re-published by many other parties.
Race Photography
Photographs and/or video will be recorded at our event.
The intended purpose of the photographs is to commemorate your participation in the event and provide a lasting record of your achievement. However, in making images available for review and download, the images are published in the public domain.
By entering our events you grant us the right to make such media available for download from publicly available websites including Flickr.com and the High Legh 10K event website. Event photographers may also publish images on other sites.
As organisers, we may also use appropriate images in press releases and printed publicity.
Note: when coupled with the published results, bib numbers visible in photographs can be used to identify you personally.
Social Media
In addition to this website, the event has a Facebook group where event information, photos, and queries can be shared.
Please note the social media platform (Facebook) has its own privacy policy and, as race organisers, we cannot accept responsibility for data you may publish there. Please check the privacy policy before you submit any personal information to any social media platform.
Data retention
Data that we collect from you will be deleted in accordance with timescales set out below:
- Personal and Sensitive Data (e.g. emergency contacts or medical information): as short a time as possible. We store this data securely, limit access to it to only relevant officials, and delete it when it is no longer required.
- Published race results: Indefinitely
Note: race results are published and freely available online from many sources.
